The history of the Sugar Bush menu

If we go back to the beginning of the last century, Sugar Bush season was the time of year when families could reunite after a long cold Canadian winter. Fresh vegetables were scarce in the spring. Beets, pickles and other preserves were kept in pantries along with the last crop of potatoes. Sugar Bush season was the ideal time for families to come together. They could roll up their sleeves and have a drink before returning to the fields for the summer months. More information on our Sugar Bush menu can be found here.

More Information on our Sugar Bush menu

We recognize that food choices can change over time. Due to our high volume, we are not able to prepare an entirely separate vegetarian and vegan menu.

Here is a list of all our meatless options (all you can eat): pea soup, homemade bread, coleslaw, beets and pickles, country style potatoes, soufflé omelettes, homemade pancakes, maple and sugar pies, poorman's pudding, apples, oranges, juices, coffee, tea.

We offer traditional Sugar Bush dishes… our pancake recipe is more than 100-years old! For those who are experiencing this for the first time, you will get sticky with syrup and your belly will be full. Enjoy... The season is short.

If you want to burn some calories after your meal, you can run around our lake or volunteer to pile some firewood!

Please notify your server of any food allergies or intolerances. Bon appétit!
